Any Given Sunday
Football season is in full swing, and so begins the Sunday tradition: We rise at 8AM and attend the 9AM church service (most Sundays). After church, we go directly to the neighborhood bar called Gabe's where all Steelers games are shown. Remember, if it's a 1PM game on the East Coast, it's only 10AM here! We eat a greasy breakfast and drink a few Rolling Rocks with our Pittsburgh friends (and about 40 other Steeler fans), chanting "Here we go Stee-lers, Here we go!" Sunday afternoons we usually rest, and then start cooking our contribution to the traditional "Sunday Family Dinner" at Lisa & Gretchen's place. We make and eat a fabulous dinner, recap the football game, play Taboo or watch videos, and generally have a wonderful time.
Halloween
Two parties got us in the spirit this year. The first was hosted by our friend, Sandra and her boss. It was held in the clubhouse of a very nice complex by the marina. We went as "Crazy Steeler Fans" (see picture). We have a box of costume supplies from our years of theater and other dress-up occasions, and Colin put together his costume from a hodge-podge of items from our box. Of course, he was the hit of the party, complete with a cloak, reflective glasses, curly wig and propellor cap. He wore the same costume to a Halloween party hosted by his theater group, Circle-X. Eric went along as "Long John Silver" (a pirate wearing long johns, get it?). It was a great group of people, including Connor Trineer who plays "Trip" on the new Star Trek Series, Enterprise. Eric was delighted to have a chance to talk to him about his part in the show. Everyone there was in costume, bobbing for apples, playing musical chairs, making homemade masks, and watching Night of the Living Dead. More Pictures Here.
Etc.
The Acting Biz has been slow since Sept. 11. Eric's been auditioning, but no luck yet. There have been a few disappointments, but we continue on! They say "the industry" will pick up in January.. let's hope!
