Lisa and Camille at National Scrapbook Day

There are no real "headlines" for this month, but we've been busy just the same. Laurie held her first National Scrapbook Day event on the 4th and had a wonderful time helping our friends complete their albums. Next year she'll have to rent a hall for the event, but for now we all happily cropped around a few tables in the living room. Laurie's "day job" also keeps her busy, and the long commute is taking its toll, though she has found some great Creative Memories customers at the office! Laurie also made plans for a very special birthday trip in June.

Eric auditioned for several projects, and through a series of phone calls and meetings, he got involved in the production of a horror movie called Evil in the Bayou. He'll be working as a PA (Production Assistant) and acting in a small role. The film will begin production the first few days of June (see next month's journal for details).

On Memorial Day weekend we spent time catching up with life, friends, and eachother. We hiked in Rustic Canyon, near Will Roger's ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains. Along the rough trail we encountered many abandonned buildings and concrete-lined shafts that led underground. We learned from some other hikers that the area used to be a commune in the 1950's for a group of Russians, and the shafts led down to bomb shelters. It was creepy and cool at the same time!

Water is so scarce this year, a creek was a pleasant surprise.
